St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Panevėžys was opened on January 9, 2009. It can accommodate 90 single elderly or adult persons with physical disabilities who require constant care or nursing care and who cannot live alone. The institution provides long-term or short-term special social services, depending on the person's need for social services. The aim of these services is to restore the person's ability to take care of themselves and integrate into society or to satisfy the person's vital needs by providing comprehensive assistance. The services provided include accommodation, meals (4 times a day), health care, development and maintenance of daily life skills, organization of employment/leisure, information, mediation and others necessary for the person according to his or her level of independence. Every Friday, Holy Mass is offered in the nursing home chapel. Various gatherings over a cup of tea and film screenings take place in the community room. In the conference hall, various ensembles and art groups brighten up the daily life of the residents of the nursing home. Conferences, general meetings, and celebrations are held in the hall.
