Public Institution Kaunas Regional Waste Management Centre was established on March 2, 2005, with the aim of creating a harmonious and sustainable waste management system in Kaunas region. The shareholders of the institution are 6 Kaunas county municipalities (Kaunas city, Kaunas district, Kaišiadorys, Jonava, Kėdainiai, Raseiniai) and UAB “Kauno švara”. The regional municipalities committed themselves by the Establishment Agreement to adhere to the principles of creating a unified waste management system so that the project of national importance would be successfully implemented.
