On July 15, 1911, citizens Chaimas Levinas, Leibas Upnickas, and Eksija Veicšteinas submitted a request to the Kaunas Governorate Board to allow the construction of a match factory near the town of Jonava. After World War II (1946), the Jonava Furniture Factory was established on the site of the match factory. Later, it was expanded several times and constantly modernized. In the early 1960s, a powerful sawmill and large wood dryers were built here. In 1994. reorganized into several separate companies, one of which is UAB Baldai Jums". The main area of ​​activity of the company is furniture production and export; – The company employs 250 employees in two shifts; – The area covered is 3 hectares under the roof; – The company is diversified by market, the main ones being England, Germany, Sweden, Norway; – 99% of production is exported abroad; – The company protects the environment and invests in environmental protection (filters that protect the environment from particulate emissions, etc.) – An efficiently operating company: all imported wood is used 100% – even sawdust is briquetted; – There is a branded store on the company's territory, where you will always find a wide range of manufactured furniture.
