
VšĮ Mykolo Marcinkevičius Hospital until 1997. was in Vilnius III clinical hospital. in 1997 the hospital was reorganized into a public institution and named after the former long-time lecturer of the Internal Medicine Department of this hospital, Professor Mykolas Marcinkevičius. The hospital provides specialized inpatient services of adult neurology, internal medicine, gastroenterology, resuscitation and intensive therapy (adults), inpatient medical rehabilitation and ambulatory rehabilitation, as well as primary inpatient supportive treatment and nursing and palliative care services (adults) in accordance with the contract with Vilnius TLK (services nomenclature). Personal health care services are paid for by the sick fund's compulsory health insurance fund. The ambulatory consultations sub-section of the admission-urgent care and outpatient consultations department provides consultations by the following doctors: echoscopist, endoscopist, gastroenterologist, cardiologist, neurologist, radiologist, internal medicine. Computerized tomography, radiology, endoscopic and ultrasound diagnostics (abdominal organs, heart, extracranial neck vessels echoscopy), clinical physiology, clinical laboratory, pathology studies are performed with modern diagnostic equipment. Consultations and treatment can be applied for without referral to a personal health care institution. In such cases, the patient pays for the services provided at the hospital cash desk according to the approved rates.
