As a result, companies sometimes receive a limited number of applicants, leading to claims in the market that there is a "shortage of good specialists or managers." Of course, various factors and reasons contribute to this perception, but one of the most common is the failure to submit a CV.

So, let's debunk the myth that we should only apply for positions where we meet 100% of the requirements.

Myth of 100% Suitability:

It is crucial to change our mindset and view job listings as "wish lists" rather than strict criteria. Employers often include numerous qualifications, some of which are negotiable.

ob: Graphic Designer

Required: X, Y, and Z design software skills.

Your skills: Proficient in X and Y, with working knowledge of Z.

Action: Emphasize your X and Y skills, showcasing your adaptability and willingness to quickly learn and master Z.

Job: Project Manager

Required: Project Management certification.

Your qualification: Extensive experience leading projects but no official certification.

Action: Highlight your project management successes and express your intention to obtain the certification, demonstrating an initiative for skill improvement.

Psychological, Internal Beliefs about Less Than 100% Match When Applying:

Reality: Employers often seek candidates with a combination of required and additional skills. Your ability to demonstrate how your unique skill set aligns with the core needs of the job can be a convincing example.
