THE PUBLIC SECURITY SERVICE UNDER THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR AFFAIRS (hereinafter referred to as the Public Security Service) is an institution of permanent special preparedness and, as one of the entities ensuring national security of Lithuania, components of the Civil Protection System forces and institutions ensuring public security under the management of the Ministry of the Interior, contributes to the Internal implementation of measures of the 2022-2024 strategic activity plan of management areas entrusted to the Minister of Affairs. The mission of the Public Security Service is to restore public order, ensure public safety during special and emergency situations; organize and carry out convoying; ensure the protection of important state objects; in case of war, to defend the state of Lithuania.
