The main function of the "Sodra" Board is to ensure the implementation of laws regulating state social insurance. The Board organizes mandatory and voluntary state social insurance, prepares and manages the fund's budget, administers social insurance contributions, and ensures the correct calculation and payment of pensions and benefits. It also manages the data of insured persons, administers the register of pension accumulation participants and contracts, and coordinates the transfer of pension contributions. Since July 1, 2021, the Kaunas branch has also been responsible for calculating, assigning, and paying benefits from the Guarantee Fund and long-term work benefits.
