Senior Purification Specialist
About the position
As a senior purification scientist , you will be responsible for the development and optimization of protein purification processes for the production of high-quality allergens for various applications. You will independently prepare, execute, evaluate, and report analytical requests to support R&D projects. Furthermore, you will actively contribute to building know-how in the expertise team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide expertise in protein purification methodologies.
Job description
• Develop and optimize protein purification processes using various chromatography techniques, including but not limited to ion exchange, size exclusion, and affinity chromatography.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate protein purity, yield, and quality.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to protein purification and provide solutions to ensure optimal results.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments and results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality protein products for downstream applications.
• Develop and implement purification protocols for new proteins and modify existing protocols as needed.
• Ensure the correct functioning of instruments and chromatography data system.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain a safe laboratory environment.
• Stay current with advances in protein purification methodologies and recommend improvements to current processes.
Requirements
• An academic degree within a life science field such as biotechnology, chemistry, biology, or a related field with a focus on protein purification.
• Experience from biotechnology industry including 2+ years’ experience using several chromatographic and sample pre-treatment techniques in a research environment.
• Experience with project management.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to protein purification.
• Experience with protein characterization techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and ELISA is preferred.
