On April 1, 2004, the name of the Naujoji Akmenė boarding house was changed to its current name - Akmenė District Social Services House, which currently provides short-term and long-term social care services for elderly people and adults with disabilities, home assistance services, day social care for adults with severe disabilities and elderly people with severe disabilities, personal assistant, technical assistance and transport organization services.
