Kietaviškių greenhouses are the largest greenhouse complex in the Baltic States. Having created a favorable microclimate reminiscent of a real Lithuanian summer with the help of the most modern technologies, we grow fresh vegetables here all year round: as many as 17 types of tomatoes, long-fruited and short-fruited cucumbers, and lettuce. Greenhouses in Kietaviškės were installed 30 years ago - in this way, it was planned to use the surplus heat generated by the nearby Elektrėnai power plant. Initially, roses were grown in these greenhouses, and unemployed women from the surrounding cities and towns were hired to take care of them. Although the owners of the greenhouses changed after we purchased them in 1987, and we started growing vegetables instead of roses, attention to the environment and social initiatives remained in the DNA of our company. We contribute to the fight against climate change, teach about the consequences of food waste, and organize educational tours for schoolchildren and adults.
