An inpatient non-profit institution of the primary level of personal health care, which provides inpatient supportive treatment and nursing and palliative care services, is paid for by the Kaunas Territorial Sick Fund. The municipality of Kaunas is a shareholder of the institution. Nursing and supportive treatment services can be financed with PSDF funds for up to 120 days per calendar year, palliative care services are provided indefinitely. Currently, the hospital has 257 beds, including 25 beds for palliative care services. The nursing hospital employs: doctors, general practice nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, massage therapists, social workers. By decision of the administration, other health care specialists can also work. Our institution has a spiritual assistant, med. psychologist. The team of medical staff is assisted by volunteers. Efforts are made to include the patient's relatives in the team work.
