The history of UAB "Krekenavos agrofirma" goes back almost three decades. in 1993 The pig breeding complex located in the town of Krekenava was the largest in the country. Then, after the construction of the meat processing workshop, meat products began to be produced here. During the decade, the demand for Krekenava's meat products grew significantly, and a new workshop was needed, as the old one was no longer able to meet the demand. Therefore, in 2004, after investing more than 23 million euros, a modern, completely new meat processing plant was built in Kėdainiai district. Under the roof of the company's buildings covering an area of more than 22,000 m2, the largest slaughterhouse for pigs and cattle in Lithuania, meat cutting and packaging workshops and a unit for the production of heat-treated meat products were located. As the company began to focus more on the meat processing business, in 2008 the Krekenava pig breeding complex owned by the company was sold to the Danish company Saerimner. In the spring of 2009, a new extension was built at the processing plant near Kėdainiai, where a modern fresh meat packaging workshop was installed. More than 6 million EUR investment increased the company's competitiveness not only in Lithuania, but also abroad. Today, we are a meat processing company that meets EU standards, constantly growing, improving and investing not only in new production technologies, new equipment, but also systematically developing the competencies of our employees. Since 2017, UAB "Krekenavos agrofirma" annual turnover exceeds 120 million. euros.
